This small group is created on small canvasses and were created in the spring when blackbirds were prevalent in the area.
I was inspired by Wallace Steven's poetry "Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird" .
The poem and the experience of painting these works is about perception and how it shifts. Stevens called his poem a group 'sensations' according to litcharts/ a reference to "fleeting experiences that don't necessairly have any obvious meaning."
Most of these works are small yet a couple of them are larger, fitting into the fleeting experience of the season of spring when everything changes even multiple times a day.
